Challenge

This high-volume photography studio needed contact, calendar, and email to stay in sync between iPhone 3G, G5 tower, Intel iMac and MacBook, with the ability to run the Windows version of Quickbooks. Additionally, the client required faster hard drive access to capture large RAW image files from high-resolution digital cameras connected to the G5 tower.

Approach

Macinhome configured reliable contact and calendar sync on all machines with MobileMe, setup custom IMAP email solution on joeborrelli.com, installed RAID 0 (striped set) in G5 tower for faster disk access with two redundant LaCie hard drives on independent backup schedules for data protection, installed Windows XP running through Parallels for Intuit Quickbooks Canadian version to run on the MacBook.

Results

The studio’s hardware and software are now fully integrated and operate without a hitch.
