Challenge

The established Native art gift distributor required central contact and opportunity tracking accessible to 8 client computers, running from a central server, in addition to needing access to the Web-based UPS shipping and tracking system that’s only compatible with Windows Internet Explorer.

Approach

Macinhome deployed a G5 server with two 750GB hard drives, and loaded it with Marketcircle Daylite and client installs for the 8 machines. Our mobile Apple consultants wired the office for gigabit ethernet, and set up backup scripts on each client machine to run staggered nightly backups. Additionally, we installed Windows XP through Parallels on one of the Intel iMacs with full network compatibility.

Results

Shipping through UPS is streamlined and fully functional. All members of the network are able to access and modify client information simultaneously using Daylite. And all documents, emails, and settings on each client computer are automatically backed up every evening.
