Answering your most common questions

What do you charge?

We charge between $175-$225 CAD per hour. We’re consultants, so we charge for our time, giving you excellent time-saving advice, problem solving, and improvements so that you can get the most out of all your Apple equipment and software. You can find our full rate schedule and guarantees here:

I’m not in Vancouver, Canada. Can you help me remotely?

Yes. We have clients all over the world. We’ll help you wherever you are. We can use screen sharing, remote control, and FaceTime to support you with your Mac, iPhone, and iPad. The only thing we can’t help with remotely is Wifi or internet troubles.

How are you different from AppleCare?

AppleCare will only help you with specific problems affecting your Apple software and hardware. Apple won’t help you learn filing techniques, organize your photo library, or streamline your multiple email accounts. Best of all, we help with expert recommendations, fixes, and advice for your whole Apple setup including the non-Apple things like Dropbox, Google, Microsoft Office, external hard drives, printers, etc.

Examples of things AppleCare would help with: Liquid spilled on your Mac. Broken iPhone screen. MacBook keyboard that doesn’t work.

Examples of things we would help with: Simplifying and streamlining multiple email accounts. Syncing your various calendars across all your devices. Recommending and setting up the best way to handle photos in a family of 4 people and 12 devices.

Do you help with non-Apple things?

Yes. These days people need to connect with tons of non-Apple apps and services like Dropbox, Google, Microsoft Office, Adobe software, hard drives, printers, etc. We will also gladly help you move from Windows PC to Mac!

Will you teach me?

Yes! We love to educate and empower our clients to feel more confident and comfortable with technology. You will never be made to feel stupid, no matter how low-tech or no-tech you are. We’ll take notes for you, and even make screenshots or screen recordings. If there’s something you want to learn about, or if you see us do something that makes you say wow, just ask, and we’ll show you and write it down! All our consultants are patient, friendly, and kind.

How do I know you can help with my specific need?

We only charge you if we can help with your request. If we can’t help, then we’ll either give you a refund and cancel the appointment or — at your request — help with something else on your “Mac needs” list. If you want to be sure, just book a free 5-minute intro call and tell us what you need.

Are your consultants vaccinated?

Yes. All our consultants are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and will continue to get boosters as they become available, in line with provincial health recommendations. If you have specific requests like masks or social distancing, please just ask and we’re happy to do that. We want you to feel safe and comfortable.
