Do you ever try to get online and find that your Mac has automatically joined the wrong effing Wifi network? We hate that – and it wastes a LOT of time. Here’s how you fix that once and for all. There’s a 1 ish minute video here, and written instructions below.
To stop your Mac from joining the wrong Wifi network automatically:
- Click Apple menu in the top left
- Click System Preferences
- Click Network
- Make sure Wifi is selected on the left
- Click Advanced… and make sure the Wi-Fi tab is selected
- Scroll through the list of “Preferred Networks” and drag your network to the top
- Remove any unwanted ones by selecting them and clicking the minus button
- Voila! Enjoy all the free time and peace of mind knowing you will always join the right networks.
