How to stop faffing and get 20 minutes of potent work done

By December 21, 2015May 25th, 2016Technical Tips

Lucas got tired of all the little notification messages in the top right of my Mac and all the beeps and dings from my Mac and iPhone. He made this video to help you enjoy the same productivity boost he has regularly.

To enable “Hey Siri” so you can just talk to Siri without pressing the home button:

  1. Go into iPhone Settings -> General -> Siri
  2. Enable “Allow Hey Siri”
  3. Have your iPhone plugged into power and then you can just say “Hey Siri” and she’ll do whatever you say.

To temporarily stop the little messages in the top right of your Mac:

  1. Hold option on your keyboard and click once on this icon in the far top right.  (That’s the notification centre, where all your notifications come in. You can customize those in System Preferences -> Notifications.)
  2. It will go grey, and you won’t get the little alerts for as long as it’s grey.
  3. Option-click it again to resume getting all those annoying messages.  😉
