Is your technology an obstacle to your vision?

Everyone has a digital utopia.

If money were no object, and if life weren’t always getting in the way, the perfect, flawless I.T. setup that addresses the specific needs of your everyday life is probably something you could envision.

For some people, this means “Finally having my email and calendars organized and synced”.31c14aae-bf68-486d-8f58-86c4d5c9d474

For others it means “a top-shelf MacPro, 5K display and a Final Cut X that never crashes”.

Everyone has unique needs for their technology, and therefore everyone has unique pain points. Usually, when we ask about a digital utopia, the first thing people imagine is those pain points being gone.

But a digital utopia can be more than that. Not just a better version of what already exists, but a vision of something that maybe doesn’t exist but Should. Steve Jobs didn’t create a discman that never skips and spins silently – he created the iPod.

What’s your vision? What would you want your technology to do for you if your imagination was the only limit?
